The company was founded on 16 July 1997 under the name Slovenske železarne - Jeklo Štore, podjetje za proizvodnjo jekel d.o.o. State owned Jeklo Štore has been sold to Inexa from Sweden and Unior in 1999 and renamed to Inexa Štore. 220% share has been exchanged between Slovenske železarne and authorized company Železar Štore, d.d. for Slovenske železarne shares. In year 2003 has Unior d.d. bought share from Inexa and sold its previous share to partner companies Kovintrade d.d. and Dinos Celje d.o.o.. Company was renamed to Štore Steel. • The Technological park of Celje will include technological companies and development institutions that will, together with the international university of Celje, represent the basic development and innovative infrastructure accelerating not only the progress of the Savinjska region, but also of the eastern cohesion region. The park will serve as the foundation for the possible transfer of the technologies and the know-how to the south-eastern parts of Europe in the future.

Network spin-off incubator of University Mariborwas in predominant degree (88%) financed from means of programme PHARE 2003 – Economically Social Cohension, Scientific and technological enterprise incubators on universities SI 2003/2004-938-16, alone institute assured 12% assessments of common necessary means. With conlusion of contract concerning donation No. 7175103-03-04-0001 wewr to Network business incubator of Savinjska region from the Ministry of the Economy assigned means in height 623.333,04 EUR, from this 75% of means of programme Phare and 25% of means of own participation.

On the 05.08.2005 between Network business incubator of Savinjska region and University in Maribor occured of signature Agreement concerning long-term cooperation on field of developmetn and of activity of mechanisms for transfer of novelty from University in Maribro to economy and enterprise practice. This agreement means origin of founding of university incubator actually inside network enterprise incubator of Savinjska region. Holders of enterprise ideal are from university in Maribor in programme of university incubator (students and professors), enterprise groups (of studetns and of professors), or individual businessmen with doctoral name, that they are developing their producst in cooperation with university in Maribor. Network university spin-off incubator of University in Maribor covers 32 municipalities of Savinjska region.
